CECI in Indonesia

CECI began expanding its services overseas more than forty years ago while taking part in a highway improvement project on the world's largest archipelago, the Republic of Indonesia. Shortly thereafter, CECI established its Jakarta Representative Office to administer a long and growing list of projects that have been carried out throughout this vast developing country, including urban tollways and arterial roads, transmigration projects, urban planning and land development projects, roadway improvement and betterment projects, bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.

The main objective of the project is to support growth and reduce poverty by rehabilitating 379 km of national roads in the 2 provinces, namely: East and West Kalimantan. To ensure that the rehabilitated roads do not deteriorate prematurely and secure sustainable benefits, the project include measures to reduce pavement damage caused by overloaded trucks, strengthen the planning, programming and executing of maintenance, and reduce the risk of accidents among roadside communities by raising levels of awareness of accident risk.

The overall objective is to ensure that high quality construction is achieved in time, within budget, and that all work is carried out in full compliance with the approved engineering designs, technical specifications, agreed work schedule, the term and conditions of the contract documents and as per sound engineering practices. The project scope covers a construction length of about 219 kilometers.
